Privacy policy

This notice explains how personal data is processed in connection with the animachart.com website. It follows the revised Swiss Data Protection Act (revDSG) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This policy covers the marketing website animachart.com. The application at app.animachart.com additionally processes user accounts, sign-in data, payment data and case data; a separate or supplementary privacy notice applies within the application.

3. Processing when you visit this site

Server log files

When this site is accessed, the hosting provider automatically stores data in server log files: IP address, date and time, the page/file requested, volume of data transferred, referrer, and browser/operating-system information. This processing serves the secure and stable operation of the website and is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 31 revDSG; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Retention: for the period the hosting provider keeps its operational and security logs.

Cookies, tracking, third-party content

By default this website sets no cookies, uses no web analytics and loads nothing from third parties (CDNs) — the one web font used for headings is served from this website itself. Clicking “Open app” takes you to app.animachart.com.

The one exception is consent-based ad conversion measurement. We advertise on Google Search, and to learn which ads lead to sign-ups we ask you — in a banner on your first visit — whether Google’s conversion measurement (Google Ads) may be used. Only if you click “Allow” does your browser load the Google tag, and only then may Google set cookies for this purpose (typical lifetime up to 90 days). Your choice itself is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) so the banner does not reappear. If you decline or ignore the banner, no request to Google is made at all. Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; data may also be processed by Google LLC in the USA. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 31 revDSG; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), revocable at any time with effect for the future: change your cookie choice.

The website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, Switzerland. The provider processes the above log data as a processor on our behalf under a data processing agreement (DPA). The servers are located in Switzerland.

5. Disclosure / processors

Your data is disclosed to third parties only where necessary for operation, where you have consented, or where we are legally required to do so. Service providers used:

• Infomaniak Network SA (Switzerland) – hosting and serving this website
• Google Ireland Limited (Ireland; Google LLC, USA) – ad conversion measurement, only after your consent via the cookie banner (see section 3)

Beyond these, this website sets no cookies and loads nothing from anyone else.

The application at app.animachart.com is a separate matter and additionally uses:

• Render (Render Services, Inc.) – hosting of the application itself
• Stripe – payment processing for case credits
• Google – sign-in with a Google account, and the Gemini models behind the voice assistant
• Anthropic – the Claude models behind the AI pattern and treatment suggestions
• Resend – delivery of sign-in and system emails
• GitHub – only if you send feedback from within the app
• Your browser vendor’s push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla) – only if you enable notifications

Where personal data is transferred to countries outside Switzerland or the EEA, we ensure an adequate level of protection — for example through an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

We process personal data only for as long as necessary for the stated purposes or as required by statutory retention obligations.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have in particular the right to information (access), rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, a message to the contact address above is sufficient.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC/EDÖB), in the EU your competent data protection authority.

9. Data security

Transmission is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
